President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked all government delegates to the just concluded COP28 held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to within 14 days turn in progress reports to further negotiations and discussions during his visit to Dubai.
A memo with reference number- Press/89-1/001 and dated December 7, 2023, signed by Hakeem Muri Okunola, principal secretary to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was sent to all the ministers and government agencies that attended the conference.
The memo stated: “I write on the instruction of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to request that you kindly provide a written report on advances made by your ministry in furtherance of positive discussions and meetings held during Mr.President’s visit to Dubai, UAE, to attend the 28th session of the conference of parties to the United Nations frameworks on climate change (COP28)”
According to the Memo, the reports are to provide specific details of potential projects and agreements in principle, discussed in line with Mr. President’s drives for foreign direct investment under the banner of his Renewed Hope Agenda. It should include details of the most advanced projects, Identity of the counterparties, Projected timelines and projected milestones: and details of any obstacles which may have been encountered thus far.
“Kindly note that Mr. President has further directed that further progress reports should be periodically every month,” the memo stated
