NCC: Federal Government Commits to Renovating Digital Innovation Park in Kano

 The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its dedication to revitalizing the nation’s technological infrastructure by pledging to renovate the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Digital Innovation Park in Kano

Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy,  made the announcement. He expressed profound gratitude to IHS Towers, a leading telecommunications infrastructure provider, for their generous support in overseeing the comprehensive renovation.

According to the minister, the renovation aims to restore the park to its former glory, serving as a vibrant hub for aspiring tech professionals and 3MTT Nigeria fellows. This cutting-edge facility provides a conducive environment for hands-on learning experiences, fostering innovation and learning.

“By revitalizing this critical resource, the initiative seeks to empower the local community, nurture tech talent, and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s burgeoning digital economy. Dr. Tijani emphasized the urgency of restoring the facility, acknowledging its importance in shaping the future of the nation’s youth.”

While in Kano, Dr. Tijani engaged with the local community, sharing inspiring stories and highlighting the immense potential they hold for the future. He also appreciated the Kano State Government, led by Executive Governor H.E. Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for their warm welcome and unwavering support for the Ministry’s initiatives.

“This collaborative effort underscores the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a thriving digital ecosystem, equipping young Nigerians with the skills and resources necessary to drive the country’s digital transformation,” he said.

The renovated NCC Digital Innovation Park is poised to become a beacon of innovation, propelling Nigeria’s digital economy forward and cementing its position as a hub for technological excellence in Africa.

This pivotal facility suffered damage during the widespread #EndBadGovernance protests in August 2024.
