16-year-old Enugu girl achieves 9 A1s in WAEC, 324 in JAMB

  • Sets record at Deeper Life High School

 

A 16-year-old brilliant kid, Somtochukwu Ekwochi, has recorded an amazing performance in the recently released result of the May/June 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (“SSCE”) conducted by the West African Examinations Council (“WAEC”). Somto scored A1s in all the nine subjects she sat for during the examination.

Somto, who is a member of the graduating class of 2022 of Deeper Life High School, Lagos Campus, also posted another remarkable score of 324 in the Universities Tertiary Matriculations Examination (“UTME”) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (“JAMB”).

In recognition of her sterling performance, Somto who hails from Umueze Awkunanaw in Nkanu West Local Government Area, Enugu State, bagged the 2022 nationwide overall best graduating student from the 21 states campuses of the Deeper Life High School. She was also the first Arts and Humanities student to record 9 A1s straight in SSCE in the school’s 12 years of history.

During the 7th valedictory service of Deeper Life High School held at the school’s campus at Mowe on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Somto also emerged the overall best candidate in 6 of her 9 subjects and won several mouth-watering cash prizes.

Regarding her next step, the Enugu girl said she wants to be a civil rights lawyer and will be proceeding to study law in university this September.
