The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) are collaborating to ensure a smooth transition to digital broadcasting.
Charles Ebuebu, Director General of NBC, made this known on Thursday, at a joint press conference on Digital Switch Over (DSO) held in Abuja.
Ebuebu stated that the partnership was to achieve the benefits of DSO for Nigeria, emphasising that the collaboration marks a strategic alliance and a unified effort to ensure a smooth transition to digital broadcasting.
He assured that the funds allocated to the project would be carefully managed to ensure each component of the DSO ecosystem significantly contributes to realizing impactful digital dividends for the nation.
Ebuebu further highlighted that the DSO project is a catalyst for Nigeria’s media and socio-economic transformation.
According to him, it is expected to create substantial job opportunities, drive economic growth, and expand the industry.
“The implementation of precise and comprehensive audience measurement will also enhance marketing efforts and improve content quality.
“Together, we are building a brighter future where every Nigerian will benefit from superior broadcast quality, enriched educational content, and expanded opportunities for creativity and innovation”, said the NBC DG
