The interim managing director of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company AEDC, Akinwumi Bada has confirmed his resignation from the company. He said he does that in order to maintain the reputation he has built over the years.
He confirmed his resignation to Business Standards when called today, Monday. He only said, yes, I have resigned when he was called on the phone.
Also, those that are closed to AEDC said that he might have resigned because he felt the regulatory agencies were not giving him the necessary support to carry out his duties.
“He felt his continuous staying in the company without being able to achieve his goals and objectives might impact his reputation negatively. So he left,” someone said to Business Standards
In addition to this may be the protracted core investors issues that had permeated into the operations of AEDC.
He was appointed in December 2021 to head a five-member management team of the troubled AEDC for a period of five months following the disengagement of the erstwhile AEDC managing Director, Ernest Mupwaya along with other top management officers
Following his resignation, Adeoye Fadebiyi, the Managing Director/CEO of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) may have been appointed to head the AEDC.
