We Are Committed To Developmental Projects –

 

 

Abdulwahab Olasupo Egbewole SAN, professor of International Law and Vice Chancellor,  University of Ilorin, has disclosed that, the institution secured grants from Tertiary Education Trust Fund, (TETFUND) towards completing major projects in the university.

Egbewole, who made this known while addressing journalists at an annual Ramadan Iftar get together held at the VC’s Lodge of the campus, informed that the building of Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences and the University of Ilorin Advancement Centre recently completed were financed by the TETFund 2020 Zonal Intervention fund.

The VC noted that as the school administration continues with its smart school agenda,

UniIlorin is also making tremendous progress and development on what his administration met on ground.

Egbewole however, hinted that through the efforts of reducing transportation problems bedevilling students and staff of the University, the institution will introduce electric bus and intral-train services for easy transportation.

The Vice-Chancellor, assured that more vehicles would be available as soon as possible in that, consultations are on top gear.

“Transportation problem has reduced because we have created at least within our campus from gate to the campus is smooth ride, we are also looking at the government of Kwara State in concluding the ongoing Tanke bridge project which will further reduce the transportation challenge,” he said.

“The good thing about it is that this is open road few of our colleagues in the Department of electrical engineering are already working on that model and because we just released the Senate research grant, we are hoping that part of the grant will be used to work on that model,” he explained.

Egbewole, restates commitments towards ensuring that academic calendar is moving on smoothly so that their students will compete favourably with their mates worldwide.

The Vice-Chancellor, while speaking on future of the institution in the coming years of his tenure; said he hope to see University of Ilorin the number one University in Nigeria, well recognised in Africa and the world at large.
