The West African Gas Pipeline Company has named a governance and legal executive to succeed Isaac Adjei Doku as it strengthens stakeholder engagement and corporate governance.

She is Angela Yasmin Heymann, who is now named the General Manager, Corporate Affairs of the company. The transition follows the conclusion of Dr. Isaac Adjei Doku’s tenure after more than five years in the role.

The leadership transition, effective July 1, 2026, forms part of WAPCo’s efforts to reinforce corporate governance, regulatory engagement, and stakeholder relations as the regional gas infrastructure company advances its long-term growth strategy.

Dr. Doku officially concluded his tenure on June 30, 2026, having led the company’s Corporate Affairs Division for over five years. During his time at WAPCo, he played a central role in shaping corporate policy, strengthening stakeholder engagement across the company’s operational jurisdictions, and enhancing internal communications.

The company credited Dr. Doku with fostering a collaborative workplace culture, championing staff welfare, and promoting professionalism throughout the organisation. WAPCo also acknowledged his contributions to building stronger relationships with governments, regulators, and other key stakeholders across the West African region.

In announcing the transition, WAPCo expressed appreciation for Dr. Doku’s service and wished him success in his future professional endeavours.

Mrs. Heymann assumes the role with more than three decades of experience spanning the energy, finance, and public sectors. A senior legal and governance executive, she brings expertise in corporate governance, regulatory strategy, compliance, board advisory, and complex commercial transactions.

Her career includes leading high-value financing negotiations, supporting the development of regulatory frameworks, advising boards of state-owned enterprises, and overseeing cross-border infrastructure agreements.

Mrs. Heymann has also worked extensively with major public institutions in Ghana, including the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), and the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), strengthening institutional partnerships and regulatory coordination.

She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and International Finance from University College London, a Qualifying Certificate of Law (BL) from the Ghana School of Law, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Ghana, Legon.

WAPCo said the appointment reflects its commitment to strong corporate governance, effective stakeholder engagement, and sustainable business growth as it continues to operate critical regional gas infrastructure serving multiple West African markets.

The company welcomed Mrs. Heymann to the executive leadership team and said it looks forward to her contributions in advancing WAPCo’s strategic priorities and supporting the long-term development of the regional energy sector.
