Election Results: Ahmed Lawan, Gbenga Daniel, Y ar Adua, Adeola Win Senatorial Seats

The President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, of  All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged winner of the just concluded senatorial election in Yobe. Lawan polled 91,318 votes to defeat his rival of the PDP, Ilu Alhaji-Bello, who got 22,849 votes out of the 122,136 total valid votes cast.

The former governor of Ogun State,Gbenga Daniel secured 115,147 votes to defeat other candidates in the contest for the Ogun East senatorial seat.

Also, Colonel Abdul’aziz Musa Yar’Adua, APC  senatorial candidate for Katsina Central, Colonel Abdul’aziz Musa Yar’Adua, has been declared the winner of the election.

The returning officer for the election, Professor Aminu Dalhatu Kankia, while announcing the result in Katsina, explained that Yar’Adua scored a total of 153,512 votes to defeat his closest rival, Aminu Surajo Makera of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 152,140 votes.

Gambo Abubakar Jally of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) scored 1,605 votes, Muhammad Mustapha Kurfi of Social Democratic Party (SDP) got 807 votes, and Aminu Gide of Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) got 781 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Solihu Mustapha of the All Progressive Congress the winner of the Kwara Central Senatorial District election.

Mr Mustapha secured 109,823 votes to defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,  Bolaji Abdullahi.

Abdullahi, who is a former minister of sports, got 69,202

 Senator Solomon Adeola, APC, is declared winner Ogun West Senatorial Seat

Senator Solomon Adeola who doubles as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, is the senator currently representing Lagos West Senatorial District, he won the Ogun West Senatorial election by a total vote of 112,887 to his closest rival of PDP, Chief Ganiyu Dada Obanibasiri who scored 60,189. The Labour Party candidate came third with a total vote of 19, 244

Senator Abdul Ningi , PDP was  declared the winner of the Bauchi Central Senatorial District

Ningi polled 104,878 votes to defeat his close opponent Uba Nana of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got 84,621 votes
